Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) is a non-invasive and gentle treatment that improves your lymphatic system’s function, promoting blood circulation, fluid balance, and immune responses. Our trained therapist will feel the quality, direction, and rate of your system, pinpointing areas of restricted lymphatic flow. Lymphatic Drainage encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body allowing your system to function as it should.
Your body’s lymphatic system is an intricate system of cells, vessels, nodes, tissues and organs that acts as your body’s ‘sewerage system’. A healthy and optimal lymphatic system cleans and removes all harmful toxins, maintains fluid levels, and protects your body against illnesses. Yet, digestive imbalances, stress, environmental exposures, and chronic conditions can disrupt the flow and fluency of the system, destabilizing your overall health. We assess how these factors are disturbing your system, providing you with a platform to receive personalized drainage and massage treatments that restores balance.
The body’s lymphatic system consists of a complex function of tissues, nodes, vessels and organs. This system has capillaries, which allow fluid from your body’s cells to enter into the lymphatic system. Known as lymphatic fluid, or lymph, this fluid consists of cells, debris, and digestive fats. When in the system, the fluid is cleaned continuously by the lymph nodes and returned to the bloodstream. However, when the lymph fluid is stagnant and fails to clean properly, it builds up, weakening your immune system, causing symptoms such as brain fog, fatigue, digestive issues, and many others.
Stress, environmental exposures, surgeries and traditional medical treatment, particularly cancer treatment, digestive imbalances, and chronic conditions, are the major causes of lymphatic dysfunction. These factors can impair your system’s ability to clean and remove harmful toxins and bacteria from the body.
As massage therapy and lymphatic drainage are facets of Functional and Naturopathic Medicine, combining them with other disciplines, such as chiropractics, can prove beneficial for managing, improving, and preventing chronic conditions. Our whole-body approach to treatment means massage therapy can be used as part of your multidisciplinary plan to encourage you to complete health.
The focus of craniosacral therapy is to assist in the release of the body’s connective tissue called fascia. Fascia is latin for ‘band’ and covers the body’s organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain, and spinal cord. The fascia is a body-wide connective network. Craniosacral therapy is thought to improve efficiency of biological processes by boosting self-healing and self-regulation.
